Occupational Health and Industrial Safety Policy

The health and safety of our people constitute a top-priority goal for OZNA. We are positive that the standards of industrial safety and occupational health are closely interrelated with the operational efficiency. Nothing can be more important to the company than the safety, health and wellbeing of our employees and their families.

Safe working conditions are our priority

Key Principles of Occupational Health and Industrial Safety:

  • The health and safety management system is a key component of our business sustainability.
  • The sources of hazard in a workplace shall be identified and eliminated, every incident shall be investigated.
  • The employees shall act in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Company standards shall comply to all regulatory requirements of occupational health and safety.
  • All data on occupational health and safety shall be accessible.
  • No work shall be carried out if unsafe conditions are identified.

OZNA will never compromise the safety of working conditions. This is a top-priority goal for the employees at all levels in the company. Supervisors shall identify potential hazards and risks in a workplace. Any hazardous situation shall be resolved before the start of work. All accidents shall be reported immediately.

We are continuously improving our occupational health and industrial safety management system to achieve higher efficiency, deliver operational tasks, keep prepared for emergency response, and we treat industrial safety and occupational health as a key value for the overall success of the company operations.

Risk Management in Employee Work

OZNA uses preventive and operative risk management practices. Our preventive practices involve assessing the risks based on the risk management matrix of occurrence probability and consequence severity of identified risks. This results in every risk being ranged on a scale of 1 to 25.

For every category of risk, two sets of measures are put in place:

  • Preventive measures to reduce the probability of occurrence for a given risk (by providing training, developing policies, implementing audits and mentoring based on monitoring, etc.)
  • Mitigating measures to reduce the consequences of occurrence for a given risk (PPE, safety belts, airbags, backup tools, etc.)
  • The operative practices of the Company involve the management cycle of processing incident data using the corporate proprietary Kontur safety system in four stages:
    • Register incidents in the corporate electronic Kontur system
    • Analyse causes and develop corrective actions
    • Implement corrective actions
    • Monitor the efficiency of corrective actions
    • In case of incidents, top executives at the level of deputy directors are participating in root cause analysis and investigation while coordinating the occupational health and industrial safety team. Once approved, corrective actions are implemented with mandatory participation of employees from adjacent subdivisions. Finally, the efficiency of implemented corrective actions is monitored on a mandatory basis.

Corporate Culture of Occupational Health and Industrial Safety

We at OZNA are committed to maintaining and promoting a corporate culture of occupational safety that would minimize the number of injuries, prevent fatalities, and make us a leader in industrial safety and occupational health among other companies in the industry. We support and encourage a culture of responsible and safe conduct in our employees.

OZNA shapes and upholds the company safety culture by:

      • Putting the safety interests of personnel at work, community and environment above any commercial, technical, or other considerations
      • Providing safe working conditions for the employees and requiring the partners to do likewise
      • Developing clear, straightforward and practicable system of safety rules and communicating such a system to the employees and partners
      • Authorizing any employee to suspend and/or dismiss any operation that is potentially harmful to personal health or damaging to equipment and environment
      • An audit of safe conduct is put in place to foster a safety culture and implement preventive safety. The audit process is an interactive, systematic and documented observation of the work site, workplace and employee’s actions in performing a certain work task with a followup talk between the employee and the auditor.

OZNA has adopted a number of fundamental safety rules aimed at preventing unsafe employee conduct that may potentially harm the work at hand, endanger the employees themselves, their colleagues or industrial facilities.

        Environmental Considerations

Taking care of the environment is one of OZNA’s priorities. This is not so much about compliance with the strict normative requirements of the state regulators, but mostly about the company’s own commitment to preserving the ecological balance for the health and wellbeing of future generations.

To this end, OZNA has developed and successfully implemented an environmental management system. We are reducing harmful impact on the environment at both manufacturing and design stages. For a few years now, OZNA has been substantially cutting down on waste generation, dust emissions, waste water and paint material disposal.
